Did you know? Wednesday was the Vernal Equinox
The Vernal Equinox
Yes, it was Wednesday the 18. March 2026.
We can celebrate that the sun since then is above the horizon more than 12 hours as the days grow the fastest around this vernal equinox time by 3:58 minutes every day for the next 6 days.
This dynamic increase in light, and the sun climbing fast higher in the sky every day brings about an increase in warmth and traditional caused the tradewinds to move with strong force further north bringing about equinoxial gale force winds when the weather systems changed
The BBC announces:
The spring equinox is almost here and marks the start of astronomical spring. In the northern hemisphere the spring equinox always happens between 19 and 21 March.
I ask you then: “Who would you rather believe the actual sunrise and sunset figures or what is put out there generically by the media?
Hurray, the sun won over the night!
So, why wait to celebrate?
Aurora Borrealis- Russell-McPherron Effect
Talking about light there is another phenomena which has to do with light.
How do you know it’s spring? Cracks are opening in Earth’s magnetic field.
Researchers call it the ” Russell-McPherron Effect
Solar wind flows through the gaps to fuel geomagnetic storms even without a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) impact.
So, look up in the sky these next clear nights and see in your area rare aurora borealis even in Southern regions.
The Birds and Hedges
You might have found for the last three weeks at least the birds have been very active and if you haven’t pruned your hedges before, best wait now until May when breeding and nesting subsides, unless you check your hedges and you are absolutely sure, there are no nesting birds in there. You would see them flying in and out of the hedge constantly.
Therefore, in conclusion of today my advice is check everything you hear, investigate and double check it with your own clear observations, your logical and critical thinking, your feelings and then put it all together by using the left and right hemisphere of your brain and frontal lobe, conscious thinking process. We could call this threefold thinking or as I call it synergistic or wholistic thinking to make up your own mind.
Don’t follow even common sense any more as what was common yesterday might have changed already or is not really valid for you.
And when you study biodynamic literature and particularly the agriculture lectures question the words in the English language, as quite a few words have been mistranslated, having changed the meaning in the English version of Steiner’s original lectures and of what they truly wanted to transmit, hence yet another attempt has been made to translate them anew. I highly recommend you acquire the latest version of the Agricultural Lectures.
So, while you celebrate the sun winning over the night today, meditate on the your own relationship to finding your own truths and coming to your own independent insights.
This ultimately will set you free as Steiner describes in the Philosophy of Freedom, which called in its original title: “Thinking as a free, spiritual activity”.
This capacity Steiner calls “moral intuition” as a new capacity to be learned by those who have lost touch with their own inner and outer Nature and tradition.
Happy Equinox and welcome to the growing light
